Would the MAC 4100 be us to the task?ĭo you think that these speakers would fit the bill? Any other suggestions? In the other thread there were a couple of recommendations for the Dali Zensor 1. It appears that the S3/5R2 are difficult to drive. I'm not overly concerned with with deep bass, but whatever bass I have I want to be tight, quick and non-boomy if that makes sense. Playback volume will be quite low, so I don't need speakers that really completely fill the room I think the non-ported design could be more forgiving regarding the speaker placement.Ģ. The speakers will be positioned on my desk, about 6 inches from the wall so all of the listening will be near-field. However, I am wondering if these will fit the bill for me given the specific requirements of my office system:ġ. It is my understanding that usually the S3/5R2 speakers do better with classical, folk or vocal music. Although I listen to almost every kind of music, I probably spend more than 60% of my listening time with rock music. In my previous thread, I was inquiring about speaker recommendations to pair with a McIntosh MAC 4100 receiver in an office system.
